Hi Joel,

I think she might enjoy 'Bend It Like Beckham' ...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0286499/

Very accessible. Set in England. It's onna them 'parent's just don't
understand' flicks ... teenage girls ... soccer ... but the main
character's parents are Indian which gives it a bit of a twist.

I got it from Netflix a week or two ago and thought it was pretty cute.

Probably not an 'old school' reflection of culture ... but it seemed
pretty good.

Oooo! Just realized Netflix will let me browse by 'Foreign films -->
Indian':

Sunofagun, "Lagaan" and "Bend It Like Beckham" seems like the only 5
star recommendations. Three other films received 4 star ratings:
* The Terrorist
* The Guru
* ABCD

HTH,

RonL.
