Sheesh, Elfur - where have you *been*!

They're now the closest VAG have to a budget brand, but they're built 
to the same quality of any VW or Audi, and VAG have standardised their 
platforms. See that Audi TT or VW new Beetle? It's a Golf. VAG also use 
Škoda as their test brand - the Fabia had the most recent Polo platform 
a year before they introduced it with a VW brand.

Sitting under that Octavia shell is a VW Passat/Audi A4. Not a *luxury* 
car, but a good size and quality one. They've recently (late 2002 in 
the UK) introduced a specifically targeted luxury model: the Superb:
