No.  IIRC you can use some Jabber-enabled IM clients to log onto IRC
servers; GAIM for one does it for sure.  However, you're better off using a
dedicated IRC client.  Try mIRC or X-Chat for Windows, X-Chat or bitchx or
irssi for Un*x and I'm sure Garrett or Martin will step up with a useful Mac
OS IRC client recommendation :)
