[thechat] numbness can be a real pain

Minor surgery on my left hand (spectacular rare sponaneous subcutaneous
hemorrhaging, requiring scissors, scalpels, and a groovy little thing
that looked like a cross between an ice cream scoop and a grapefruit
spoon)

after three weeks of pain and bleeding, the surgery (total nerve
blocker, so the finger was dead for over 24 hours) wasn't such a big
deal. couple weeks to heal, and I'm back to touch typing and playing
bass.

unless, of course, they tell me today that the painful tingling in the
finger tip, making both activities impossible, can last two or three
*months*

how am i going to not play for three months?

coming immediately after the shattered tooth, which followed posthaste
upon the heels of the skin cancer, I've decided that something's not
fair.

On the other hand, I'm married to my soul mate and we have the best baby
in the history of babies, and we live indoors and eat reg'lar. I'll
count my blessings and have an extra pint to celebrate tonight.
