Reasonable enough (assuming the II is II7) as that's a secondary
variant of IV.

Oh, *whole* other area of harmony :-)

Anyway, off the top of my head with a bit of help from iTunes:
* Blue Moon
* Stand by Me
* Runaround Sue
* Dream Lover
* Wonderful World (Don't know much 'bout History...)
* I Wonder Why
* Diana
* Magic Moments
* Oh Carol
* This Old House
* A Teenager in Love
* Teardrops
* Come Go with Me
* I Wonder Why
* Why do Fools Fall in Love
* Zoom Zoom Zoom
* Dedicated to the one I love
* Pretty little Angel Eyes
* Lonely Heart
* When a Man Loves a Woman (kinda, with passing chords, but still
that progression down from I to IV)
* Unchained Melody
* I will always Love Youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
* Love is all around
* Teenage Dream (T.Rex)
* Every Breath You Take
* Nine to Five (the Sheena Easton one, not the Dolly Parton)
* Love Hurts
* You Can't Hurry Love
* I get around
* You've Lost that Lovin Feelin
* Tears on my Pillow
* I'm So Tired (see, told you we could get some Beatles in there)

or pretty much any collection of Doo-Wop

Then there's pastiche:
* Song for Whoever
and if you're going there, you might as well go for the full
Housemartins:
* Happy Hour
and if you're in the 80s, then it's a small step to
* Hold me Now
* Breakaway
* Only You
* Enola Gay
* Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

You can always do comedy:
* Always Look on the Bright Side of Life
* I've Got Two Legs
* Monster Mash
from which it's a hop to Rocky Horror:
* Bless My Soul
* Science Fiction (ish)
and speaking of musicals, you can't do bubblegum and icecream without
Grease:
* Beauty School Dropout
* We Go Together

and there's a few that start that way but wander off - Don't Like
Mondays for one, or Ashes to Ashes or At the Hop (and then it goes
into 12 bar blues). Perhaps useful for the *end* of the medley to
surprise people...

Cheers
Martin
