yeah, that umlauted 'u' is hard to get right for the uninitiated. but,
except that it drops the terminal 'uh', 'green' is darn close. sadly.

had a German teacher who taught us to pucker like yer gonna kiss, and
say 'e', and that was his version of 'ü'
