thoughts on a much too hot morning-
 
these are the hibernation days
hiding from the crush of heat, the bearing down weight of the sun
the enemy, creeping through the blinds before we've sipped our first
sips
 
black the windows
lock 'em tight
 
head down eyes half shut rushing to the next shade
 
wishing we could sit hand in hand under twinkling pinpoints
breezes and hushed night noises
instead of mechanical whirring and banging behind blacked locked windows
hiding from the crush of heat, the stifling weight of the night
 
ah, if only we had an ocean
