[thechat] windows workgroup internal email emulation thingy

Gmail is becoming unreliable for urgent communications. I email my wife who
is across the room, or her son who is all the way downstairs, and emails
take hours, or never arrive.

We work on web projects together and need a simple solution to communicate
by email, except inside our Windows workgroup. Doesn't have to include file
sharing, we just need a way to ensure that instructions and information
arrives right away.

Ideas?
