I can understand your point, but I can look at an article in Italian for
example, and get the general gist of it despite knowing virtually no
Italian. I'm able to do that by comparison of common words.

Similar to how you can correlate functions in two different programming
languages, right?

Currently we would have many people who look at backend code and have very
little idea as to what's going on. Similar to what would happen if I tried
reading something in German.

I think members will say "Wow, I can't read this one, but evolt.org is doing
something for people who speak other languages. That's cool."

Remember that the content our current members are here for goes unchanged.
We're not removing English articles to add German ones.

Members may skip articles they do not understand (or have no interest in).
Just like I currently skip ASP and PHP articles. And just like backend
coders may skip design articles. How is that a problem?

Just for you, we can add in a preference switch that disables non-english
articles. How about that?

WRT your remark about comments/ratings, you'll note that I've never said
that I'd rather have an article with 10 ratings than no article at all.

It's possible to attempt to add articles of another language, while also
working to increase comments and ratings for articles in English. Then
attempt to mirror that increase for the other languages.

This is my +1 to your -1.
