i'd take the time calculations and break them up into a three parts and put
each into a separate table cell. the time in the left cell, right aligned.
the @ in the second cell. the speed in the third cell left aligned.

we need someone that could mirror the entire thing short-term while we get
the piece in place for the distributed solution we've been discussing. i'm
concerned that if we throw out requests for mirrors right now we'll end up
turning alot of people away that'd be willing to mirror parts of it, but not
the whole thing. turning them away now could hurt us when we can actually
use their help. if the message is strong enough that we're looking for a
whole-archive mirror for the short-term and then talk about our long-term
solution those who can't mirror the whole thing would wait to offer their
help (providing they actually read the article).

thoughts?
