so confusing you even got them mixed up.

news shows up on the frontpage

jobs, suggestions, and faq do not.

in addition, faq does not appear in the dropdown.

all categories are searchable.

with the addition of the faq category the complexity of the code has
increased dramatically.

we need to start using the cattype attribute to determine display.
