the sound reason is since we've instituted one sequence - which you may 
or may not like - we've never used the same PK for anything.

ok, my fault. but does it *really* matter if the categoryid of two 
categories is sequential? and right now, community news is only 2 more 
than 'commentary & society' and 4063 away from 'IA/usability'! but that 
really doesn't matter..

i'm providing reasoning other than news & community news are right next 
to eachother. we've never used the same PK for anything since using one 
sequence.
