oracle doesn't like something about it:

Oracle Error Code = 904
ORA-00904: invalid column name

i even tried aliasing the additional pieces in the second query just to make
sure -- no dice.

i tried each select separately to make sure it wasn't an issue with the
special sort column and they worked just fine.

any ideas?
