yeah.  this is only an interim solution anyway.  it's likely all to change
when the site goes through the redesign.

ewww, no.  of course you don't like the border cause you've added
khaki-colored whitespace to both sides and the border makes it obvious what
you're up to.  ;p

and have those that add khaki-colored whitespace look like ass cause they're
far too narrow for the display area and have too much whitespace?  i'd
personally prefer to leave the border as a design constraint -- ie, fill up
the damn box goofball.
