Bom dia evoltista's!

Just a couple quick notes from your friendly list administrator.

First off, you may notice some emails from the past day or so trickling
into your mailboxes, or posts showing up after their replies. There was
a bit of a glitch with one of the mail relays that caused about 1/3 of
us to miss 1/3 of the email sent out yesterday. The problem has been
fixed, and any email you may have missed the first time is arriving now.
Sorry about that!

Next, there are a lot of new folks joining thelist in the past month or
so, and I'm seeing a lot of people having problems posting to thelist
(and asking me why their post they sent two days ago hasn't shown up).
If you notice that a post you sent to thelist hasn't shown up within a
reasonable amount of time(15-20 minutes usually), make sure you have
your email client to sent out *ONLY* plain text email messages.

No HTML, RTF, Multi-part, etc are allowed to be posted to thelist. That
also goes for any attachments like .vcf's, sig's longer than 30
lines(oy.). So, if you wonder why your email hasn't shown up yet, double
check that and if you're sure your email client is set to plain-text,
feel free to email me offlist and I'll look into it. :)

A *huge* thanks to everyone for taking part in the evolt.org survey!! We
had a greater number of people than anticipated respond to the survey,
and the feedback, suggestions, and complaints(hopefully not *too* many
:) are being dissimenated and will soon be discussed and acted upon. If
you asked to be contacted about the survey, we're currently responding
to those of you who asked for that, and you should be contacted by the
beginning of next week, so thanks for your patience.. Again, thanks to
everyone for taking the time to help make evolt a better place :)

As some of you may know, evolt.org celebrates it's third birthday this
Friday, which in itself is quite an accomplishment! Personally, as I
look over the web development landscape these days, it's more than an
accomplishment - closer to a miracle.

In the wake of numerous web development sites and resources either
calling it quits all-together, being aquired and abandonded, or
switching their focus to a more 'lucrative' audience combined with a
weak world IT economy(and budget), it seems more important than ever to
have a resource for the web dev community which isn't depandant on the
whims of a Board of Directors and the call for 'profitibility' or the
current state of banner ad prices.
A community that supports itself from within, not with VC funding or ad
revenue, can weather any economic slump or decline in the industry - and
as we approach our third anniversery, I'm happy to say that evolt.org
has *not only* weathered the storm(and will continue to do so!), but is
thriving more than ever! Everyone here should be thankfull and proud of
what *you've* made evolt.org into.

Stepping out from behind the pulpit ;) I'd like to finish up by wishing
everyone a happy holiday season and a great start to a new year :)

Até mais, e obrigado por todos os peixes!!! :)
