Hi

There are actually 2 types of breadcrumbs. The second
type shows the user where they've been to previously.
I had been on an implmentation of such a brewadcrumb
type using javascript and it was pretty irritating to
users. Part of the problem with that approach is that
it doesnt tell the user where they can go to next.

I think the first type as you outlined below is a good
model and will improve the online experience provided
the labeling is easy to understand. (Based on my
experience) Labeling that's unclear will probably make
the user experience confusing. For example:

Home > Corporate Information > Press Releases >
Recent>

In this example, I'd argue Recent is
subjective..better to use the year such as 2001, or
not use it at all. 

Bottom line, if your navigation is clear, it will help
aid the user experience. 

There are other ways to implement this using CGI
insetead of Javascript.
