[thelist] should I speed optimize my site more?

JPEGectomy done, Amazon gone, Digg feedroll gone, almost all ads gone, most
sidebar photos gone, miscellaneous junk gone. I feel refreshed and free. I'm
also axing the word verification for comments, since I have comment
moderation. And I"m tinkering with background colors, etc.

Blog surgery is not so painful.
