[Javascript] netscape document.write

Hello and Thank U,

Trying to target a div in Netscape and change the text line in that div.

For instance

<div id="toast" style="visibility: visible;"> DEFAULT TEXT </div>

Now I want to change DEFAULT TEXT to a line that says NEW TEXT

I have tried many things with no success.

Any ideas?
