I've missed most of this thread, but a simple solution would be to change
providers.

I suspect they think they are being clever, most probably advertising their
hosted sites as being advertising/popup free.

Craig,

If the company is determined enough to nix Javascript that they're
physically altering incoming pages, I don't think there's much you can do
about it (check with their network admin to be sure).  I'd love to be wrong,
but it sounds like paranoia wins this time.
