[Javascript] Data Loading

Server side scripting is not an option in this particular case, as the pages
already sit on a local machine. The reason to access the other site is to
get more information for the page to work on - a list of latitude/longitude
locations that I will then use to position icons over a map on the webpage.
So, if anyone knows how to place the entire page into a variable, please
show me an example. I can't believe I am the first person wanting to do
this - aren't there guys who suck stock-ticker data for re-display ?

Tim in Ireland.
