[Javascript] vs vbscript

Apparently, there is such a beast. But for Windows only, and it requires a DLL:

Either way, I would say "why bother," because JavaScript is already
the standard, and getting web browsers to implement another
client-side language would be a nightmare. The fact that browsers can
display the output of PHP, ASP, .NET, CGI or whatever without knowing
what the source language is is the beauty of the current model.

As for .Net, the Mono project is supposed to be out there for the
platform-independence purpose, but I've never use either, so I can't
comment intelligently.

JavaScript rules! I just have to say that, because I was thinking
about it, and of the half-dozen or so languages in which I can claim
any mediocre skill level, JS is definitely one of the best as far as
coding enjoyment. Python would also be in that list.
