And my point was
a) Get to things that matter with the people who do it - desdev &
sysadmin (otherwise what's the point of having them) - and are qualified
to do it
b) Don't ask steering to make decisions on your request when steering is
*not* qualified to do it.

No, rackshack is the host which has been suggested with details provided
past a level of handwaving.

Well, if desdev and sysadmin agree, sure.

And every time I've responded right back that that's handwaving and
vapourware without an accompanying "I recommend *this* one". Give a
*real* quote with a *real* host - complete with URL (references would
also be useful), not "There's lots out there" and it can be considered.

$100 a month we have ($500 a month we don't). My vote will absolutely be
against temporary homes based on goodwill. We've had and lost two of
them in the last year. I would expect finance not to provide the budget
for this kind of setup, but to provide it for a full-time hosting
business that considers evolt as a commercial customer.

That's an OK setup - name names and prices. And assurances that we get
the same SLA as their other customers.

Cheers
