Separate offenses.
Going through the red light alone is a 3 pointer (Failing to comply
with traffic light signals), while the speeding is 3-6 points.
Now, if the red light traversal meant that he was driving carelessly or
dangerously, then it's anything from 3 to 11 points.

(guide for non-UKfies, if you're found guilty of a Road Traffic
Offense, your license gets endorsed with points. Get over the magic 12
points, and it's bye-bye license. Oh, and there's fines too, and some
offenses (eg speeding) have discretionary disqualification or even
prison. Nice.)
