[thechat] Content & Connectivity

Hi Gang,

Still looking for a house. Had assumed that I would go back to AT&T U-Verse service for cable tv content and internet connectivity. (I had it in my last house and was quite satisfied with it.)

But, alas and alack, it's not available everywhere! So what's the best backup plan?

(a) Comcast tv and AT&T DSL? (plus that racken-sacken fricken-fracken $80 AT&T DSL router - since the AT&T router appears to do some channel/frequency/digital switching/hopping/timing magic that I haven't been able to replicate with any off the shelf switch or router hardware.)

(b) Dishnet satellite tv and internet? I haven't used this. Would it be better or worse than "a"?

(c) Something else? Like reading a good book by candlelight perhaps?

Thanks!
RonL.

(For my local area {Earth at present} I'm pretty much sold on avoiding the Comcast intertubes if possible.)
