[thelist] Valid <script>...</script> use

Quick validation question:

When using something like:

<td><script>mail("name","domain","0","")</script></td>

Do I need to put <script type="text/javascript"> in the tag to make it 
valid?

I have declared <script type="text/javascript"> in the header link for 
the external javascript file, but do I also need to do it for all of 
the embedded <script> tags?
