[thelist] Finder's fee?

"Does anybody here pay finder's fees to associates, acquaintances,
friends 
for jobs they got for you? And if so what is a common percentage to be
used?"

If I don't want a job and I pass it onto my subcontractor, he will often
pay me 10%. We don't have an agreement, I have never asked him for a fee
as i feel if i don't want the job i am quite happy to recommend him.
He's just a nice guy and is happy for the extra work and if its a big
job its his way of saying thank you.
