finally someone with a level head who's interested in actually getting

specs are *always* a good thing.  they're good for the developer.  they're
good for the client.  they're good for accountability.  they're good for
assessing the success of a project.  i digress though, cause i'm sure you
already know all of that.

as professionals, i can't believe we've never, ever worked from a spec for
anything here.

in my professional career i almost always work from a spec.  the times i
decide to forego one, it comes back to haunt me.  i'm looking forward to
improving that process here.

there is no process.  take the ball and run with it.
