[Javascript] Dynamically Scroll Page on Load

Hi, I'm trying to scroll the page down when a document loads, but I'm trying
to do it dynamically.  What I'm trying to do is place some hidden html
element at the top of the page, display some information, and then place
another hidden element below that information.  Then I would like to be able
to find the difference in the Y-position of these two elements, and scroll
the page by that.  Does anyone know how I could accomplish this?  Either
some helpful code snippets or a URL would be appreciated.
