If Mozilla Thunderbird is available for OS 9 it could be worth a look -
I've been training it's spam filter for a month or so now and it's got
pretty good. It does sound like you're starting from a pretty tough
position though - Outlook Express 5 and OS 9 are hardly cutting edge.
