If you liked Thomas Covenant you might try Stephen
R. Donaldson's "The Gap" series. After Thomas Covenant
and Mordant's Need he shifted gears into SciFi with
The Gap. Pretty hard-hitting stuff. PG-13 at least!
Okay, pretty heavy R rating. Not exactly current,
published 1990 to 1996.
