These are all political topics to me.

I find it absurd that the only page one human rights issue in the last five
years other than Iraq has been Sudan which rarely gets mentioned above the
fold. But maybe a discussion that directly affects most if not all of us
would be more lively.

For those outside the US, we're supposed to be conditioned to think of
socialism as a dirty word. A few years ago, I could have pointed out the
irony that a few of our best working institutions here are socialized -
systems that work so well nobody even thinks about their nature.

I was really surprized to learn Europe has privitized highways ... even 
though the global bankers are making headway here to turn highways over to 
the aristocracy, highway privtization is still really controversial in the 
United "Markets Can Do No Wrong" States.

Anyone have thoughts on the private highways in Europe?
